Artist Statement:

I paint the things that I experience and find visual interesting. Generally, I'm a plein air painter and work in both oil and pastels. My most recent effort is oil painting. Oh, I forgot to mention I'm a dedicated pastelist who believes you need to shake it up occasionally. Subject matter certainly plays an important part of why I paint but secretly its more about the light, design and color. Painting is actually about the relationships of the elements in the painting than it is about the painting of things.
